The metal work is undamaged with original blue finish and is crisply stamped with the correct 'L' prefix serial number on the trigger block 'L14183' which dates its manufacture to between 1920 & 1921 (see page 27 of the Collectors Guide to Air Rifles By Hiller). The rifle has a blade fore sight and adjustable dial rear sight. It has the correct ribbed butt with trap. It’s original wood stock has chequered panels at the pistol grip. Also known as the 'L' or Ladies/ Light model it measures 39 ½” overall with a 17' rifled barrel. 1 Model 177 calibre, under lever air rifle. AI 685 - AI 685This is an excellent B.S.A. 1920-1921 B.S.A.ġ Model (Aka 'L' Or Light/ Ladies Model).177 Calibre Under Lever Air Rifle. The rifle cocks, loads & fires as it should with a strong spring action. The loading tap has patent detail ‘Patent 8246/06’ and underside of the cocking lever has BSA Patents (illustrated). The loading port area is marked ‘Load’ and has the BSA piled arms logo. 30338-10 (a patent lodged by Lincoln Jeffries). The left side of the weapon bears the serial number ‘S68982’ which is in the 1913-14 serial number range and Patent No. The air cylinder has crisp BSA Improved Model D detail (illustrated). The metal work has all of its original finish. It has a blade foresight and adjustable dial rear sight. It has a 17” rifled barrel and measures 39” overall. The cocking arm has a ribbed release lever on the left side. The butt is ribbed with trap & the stock is inlaid with void silver escutcheon. It has its original pistol grip wood stock in superb condition with correct chequered panels on the grip.

‘S’ prefix Improved Model D’s with ‘S’ prerfix serial numbers in the range 2 were made between 1913 & 1914 (see pages 24 & 25 of the book ‘A Collectors Guide To Air Rifles’ By Hiller). These rifles were made with both straight hand and pistol grip stocks and in both 39” and 43” variants. AI 686 - AI 686This is a near mint, BSA Improved Model D Air Rifle. NB As a post 1939 Air Rifle the restrictions of the Crime Reduction Act apply to the sale and delivery of this item. The weapon loads and fires perfectly with a strong spring action. The weapon's metal work is in excellent undamaged condition and retains its original blue finish which has just small areas of light blemishes. It has a shrouded ramp fore sight, adjustable rear sight & telescopic sight rail. The left side of the barrel is stamped with the serial number 'GR01087 '.
The weapon's barrel is stamped 'BSA Guns England.22 Cal' also with partially visible BSA piled arms logo. It is fitted with sling swivel lugs and a rubber recoil pad the end of which bears the BSA piled arms logo. The stock has a finely chequered wrist for grip.

The rifle has a walnut full stock with contoured cheek piece and rosewood fore end cap. It measures 39 ½” overall with a 14 ½” barrel. This is an excellent example in.22 calibre. NB as a post 1939 Air Weapon the restrictions of the Crime Reduction Act apply to the sale & delivery of this item. The loading and firing action works perfectly. It is under lever cocking and has an adjustable dial rear sight and shrouded blade ramp foresight. The barrel is also marked with the BSA stacked rifles logo and ‘BSA Guns Ltd England’ together with.22 Calibre detail. The barrel is stamped with 2nd issue serial number 'GP00250'. The cylinder is grooved for telescopic sight. The top of the air chamber is correctly marked with model detail (illustrated). The woodwork with BSA piled arms rubber recoil pad and 2 tone Chromed & Blued metal work are undamaged. This is a very good B.S.A, Airsporter 'S'.22 Calibre Air. Sn 16752 - 16752The Airsporter 'S' was introduced in 1979 as a deluxe version of the famous Airsporter.22 Airsporter S air rifles with GP prefix serial numbers were produced as issue No.2 March 1983 Rifle (see of Hillers Book 'A Collectors Guide to Air Rifles').
